Kloosterdorp Steyl will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the SVD, the Steyler missionary congregation. During that period we have two temporary exhibitions:

• From 17 January – 29 June 2025: Hollywood on Flores, about the films made by Father Simon Buis SVD in the 1920’s about the mission on the island of Flores, Indonesia.
• The subsequent exhibition is scheduled from Sept. 13, 2025 - March 1, 2026. For this exhibition we invited 15 contemporary artists to reflect on (the history of) our collection.  

The first exhibition shows the perspective of the SVD, the second a perspective from outside. Both are a critical reflection on cultural and religious exchange in the context of the early period of the SVD mission.
